Hi Everybody,
The guys are working on taking the car apart. It's not looking too good. They tell me this part is supposed to be straight, it's something from the rear of the car.
It looks like we'll have to rebuild from scratch, that means a new (new to us) car. We can't afford "new" but I assume Bruce will be looking around for an affordable used car for next season. I know he has criteria for what he wants so if you have something available for sale or know someone that has something, please contact Bruce thru this website and you guys can discuss the details.
So far our summer is going ok. Bruce starts to feel better then over does it and hurts for a few days. We've been trying to go out on our motorcycles on the weekends but even the short trips are uncomfortable for him. He keeps saying it's ok but I'd rather wait until next year if we need too.
Hope everyone is having a good racing season and a safe one. I'll keep you posted on how Bruce's and the cars progress is going. I think both will be slow going for now.
Have a great weekend,
Lynda

Hi Everybody,
Well, it’s official, Bruce will not be racing the rest of this season.
He made that decision the week after seeing the orthopedic surgeon. The doctor strongly suggested he not race this year that way he can be back in good form for next year’s season.
Bruce is still experiencing pain and discomfort but does see improvements weekly. So, I’m thinking this is the better decision. It just isn’t worth taking a chance racing and getting injured again. It may be a minor incident that could push his recovery time longer. And considering he is in business for himself working with heavy equipment at times, he needs to recover sooner than later.
And to all you peeps who think I had an influence on this decision…think again. I knew this was something I had to let him make on his own. No one could make this decision for him.
So, we will regroup and be back next year!
Now, the quest for a car. I know he plans on taking the old one apart to see if it can be salvaged. But I want a tall cage, we were going over the accident and believe that the contact with the other car was a factor in his back injury. The evidence is the rubber marks on the top of his roll cage and a cracked helmet. Bruce said the last bang was the big one and the one that knocked the wind out of him. When emergency crews arrived, he had excruciating pain in his back and couldn’t breath. I’m hoping that a tall cage would minimize this type of incident from happening again. I know it was a freak accident, but I want to take every precaution we can.
Of course, Bruce has other items on his wish list for the car. If you have something for sale, please contact Bruce directly to discuss if it’s what he’s looking for.
I’d like to thank all our sponsors for standing behind Bruce during this rough time. And thank Alan Dickie for the offer of a car to drive for the rest of the season. Sorry Al, I’d rather him safe than sorry.
We may come out to watch a race before the season is done. Bruce keeps going back and forth on that idea. He wants to go to the races but hates the idea of not racing, it’s a tough decision for him.
I might post progress reports on the quest for a car for next season, but it won’t be weekly. So, drop in when you can and see what’s on the site, feel free to drop us an email if you just miss us :)
Take care Everybody and stay safe!
