Hi Everybody,
Well, we made it thru this past Friday night with me being the only crew member. I don’t miss lugging tires and gassing up the car. I really do appreciate you Bobby!
There was a lot of racing going on and once again we were the last race of the night. As for the Heat races Bruce started 4th and finished 4th. Prior to the Heat races there was a makeup Modified race so the track was already starting to slick over. I found that not many cars were doing much passing.
The Feature was a 35-lap race, with 29 cars showing up for the show. And like I said the track was very slick by the time our race came up. Bruce qualified for the 15th starting position. There were only three cautions (more than most nights) for minor incidents (two mechanical and one spin out). I have to say it was another night of Bruce working hard to end up finishing 14th. The car was good, Bruce was good but there was nothing on the outside, which is where Bruce was stuck for many laps. Once he was able to get inside he was able to pick up positions but that was after losing some because of being stuck on the outside. Overall, it was a good race because everyone was in that position, if you were outside, you weren’t going anywhere and not everyone can be on the inside or it would just be a parade.
One thing I did notice is the driver radio announcer. This is the first time I had the radio so I could listen to what they say to the drivers. I was impressed! Koodoo’s to the guy on the radio. He has a calm soothing voice that directs the drivers and corrects some drivers. It’s great, I always knew MIR didn’t take crap from drivers but finally I was able to hear it for myself. Another reason to love MIR!
Well, one more regular race left. This coming Friday there will be a double Feature for the Sportsman. In the first race Bruce will have to start near the back because he wasn’t present for the race that was rained out (we knew it was going to rain so we decided to stay home and save the time and expense). But that’s ok, it should be earlier in the night so hopefully the track will have some bite in it and maybe he’ll get some passing in.
I’m hoping they have the team appreciation meal after the races again this year. It ain’t no hot dogs and burgers. MIR really knows how to treat their drivers and teams, I wish all tracks were like that.
That’s it for this week. So, one more time, if you’ve been wantin’ to see a race this season the countdown is on. This Friday…last regular race; Sept 16-17 the season end races (Sportsman on Saturday night).
Have a great week everybody,
Lynda

Hi Everybody,
This past Friday night was a nice night to race but a long one. There was a double feature for the Mods and the Sprints were there. The Sportsman race was the last race of the night so it was long and boring waiting for our race. But I did walk around and socialize. So often I hear from Bruce, “where were you?” I can’t just stand around the car and listen to the Makinson Boys mumble at each other.
Now for racing, 27 cars showed up for this week’s show. Bruce started 5th in the Heat race and finished 5th. In the Feature he started 18th and the car looked good, Bruce drove a good race, going high when needed and going low when needed. He was passing cars and at the same time occasionally being passed himself. In the end he finished 18th?!?!? Yeah, to me it looked like he was passing more than that but I guess the transponders don’t lie. Either way, we felt it was a good race. The car looked good but we just don’t seem to have the power to make it pull forward. What are we missing?!?!? We aren’t too sure but hopefully one day we get it figured out.
I do enjoy our races are MIR. There were 27 Sportsman running 25 laps on a slick track and the only real cautions were for mechanical issues. It almost ran green to checkered. And this is a typical night of racing. You gotta like a track that runs a strict field (drivers get warned on the radio for stupidity) and a bunch of drivers that respect each other enough to not try to bump each other into the rhubarb.
Well, that’s it for this week. Remember there’s now only 2 weeks of regular racing left. So, if you’ve been wanting to come out this year time is running out. There is the year end weekend race coming up on September 16 and 17th. Sportsman is running on the Saturday (no racing on September 9th).
Well, hope you have a nice week and hope to see you Friday night.
Cheers,
Lynda

Hi Everybody,
As you know, there was no racing this past weekend for two reasons…one was it wasn’t scheduled because it was the Fair weekend and secondly…it rained.
This coming Friday there will be racing. I’m not sure what the schedule is going to be because the week before they got rained out as well. But as per the current schedule online it’s as follows:

This coming Friday there will be racing. I’m not sure what the schedule is going to be because the week before they got rained out as well. But as per the current schedule online it’s as follows:
- EAST END CONVENIENCE & ADCS presents the BAILEY MOTOR COMPANY Modified Series 30L
- Quebec Lightning Sprints
- Vintage Modified
- Regular program for Modified, Sportsman, Novice Sportsman
- NO BANDITS & NO MOD LITES
This may change a bit because of the rainouts but there’s nothing posted on MIR website as of this race update.
Just remember, there’s only 3 weeks of regular racing left this year. Then the weekend of September 16-17th there will be the yearend races. Sportsman will be on the Saturday night.
Well, have a great week and stay dry, it seems we may be expecting more rain this week.
Take care,
Lynda

Hi Everybody,
Well, we didn’t go to the races this past Friday night. Bruce made an executive decision and didn’t feel a 3 hr tour (1.5 hrs each way) to just get rained out was worth it; especially with the heat we’ve been having lately.
And the decision was a good one as I see it did get rained out on Friday night.
We enjoyed a night of hanging out with friends at their pool (or shall I call it “Sandy Beach”) and enjoying burgers and a few beverages….just a few...lol.
Well, this coming weekend there’s no racing at MIR because it’s Fair week.
The following weekend, August 19th, there will be the Modified Series 30L, Quebec Lightning Sprints plus Vintage Modified and regular program for Modified, Sportsman, Novice Sportsman...NO BANDITS & NO MOD LITES.
There’s only 3 more weeks of regular racing left. So, if you’ve been planning on coming out to see Bruce race time is running out.
Have a great week and weekend and I’ll send you a reminder of our schedule next Monday.
Take care,
Lynda
